“My Dream Project” — CM Fadnavis Urges Swift Execution of Solar Krushi Vahini 2.0

Fadnavis Pushes for Timely Completion of 5,000 MW Solar Agri-Feeder Scheme by Sep 2025

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed officials to fast-track the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Solar Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0, aiming for 5,000 MW solar power generation by September 2025. At a high-level review meeting, Fadnavis called the scheme his “dream project” and stressed that its timely completion is vital for energy sustainability and rural empowerment. He instructed agencies to avoid any delays and ensure a time-bound, coordinated execution, especially in resolving land availability and infrastructure challenges. The ambitious initiative aims to power agricultural feeders with solar energy, reducing farmers' reliance on grid electricity and diesel, and ensuring stable, cost-effective power for irrigation. Once operational, the scheme is expected to significantly lower energy costs, enhance productivity, and boost the state’s renewable energy capacity. The government sees this project as a key step in making Maharashtra self-reliant in clean energy while empowering its rural economy.
