Uttar Pradesh will generate 20,000 MW of renewable energy by 2027.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced while laying the foundation stone for a greenfield data centre in Sahibabad, developed by Central Electronics Limited (CEL). Joined by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Adityanath hailed CEL as a key driver in India's renewable push and a symbol of industrial self-reliance. He called the initiative a significant step toward Prime Minister Modi’s net zero emissions target by 2070. Once listed for disinvestment, CEL has transformed into a profit-making Mini Ratna, contributing to India's Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. An MoU was signed with Multi Infra for 200 MW solar module production, and CEL presented a ₹21 crore dividend cheque to the Centre. Adityanath highlighted UP’s economic rise—doubling its economy, lifting six crore people out of poverty, and attracting ₹15 lakh crore in investment-linked projects—marking its shift from a 'BIMARU' state to a national growth engine.
