Uttar Pradesh Sets Up Five Investment Magnet Centres Across Major Indian Cities
New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government has set up five Investment Magnet Centres across major Indian business hubs as part of an expanded strategy to attract companies and investment into the state.
The centres have been established in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, with the Delhi centre located in Aerocity. Invest UP's official news archive also lists the establishment of five MAGNET centres across five major cities, while earlier official material described the initiative as satellite investment promotion offices.
The initiative is intended to move investor outreach beyond Lucknow and establish a direct presence in some of India's largest corporate and industrial centres.
Direct Outreach to Investors and Corporates
Through these centres, the state aims to establish closer engagement with large corporate houses, investment institutions, industrial groups and potential investors.
The satellite-office model is designed to connect investors with Uttar Pradesh's policies, industrial opportunities and investment ecosystem. Earlier Invest UP material described the objective as directly channeling investment from major industrial centres into Uttar Pradesh.
The centres will focus on industries aligned with the economic strengths of their respective cities.
Mumbai: Financial Services and Investment
The Mumbai centre will focus on sectors linked to the city's financial and investment ecosystem, including financial services and fintech.
Earlier official material on the satellite-office programme specifically identified financial services, infrastructure, fintech and ESG funds among Mumbai's target areas.
Bengaluru: GCCs and Future Technologies
The Bengaluru centre will target technology-intensive and emerging industries.
Its focus includes:
- Global Capability Centres (GCCs)
- Aerospace
- Semiconductors
- Electric vehicles
- Deep-tech industries
These areas closely align with Uttar Pradesh's efforts to attract technology-led investments and develop new industrial ecosystems.
Hyderabad: Pharma, Data Centres and Technology
The Hyderabad centre will concentrate on sectors where the city already has a strong business ecosystem.
Priority areas include pharmaceuticals, data centres, health technology and enterprise software/SaaS, according to earlier Invest UP material on the programme.
Chennai: Automobile and Manufacturing
The Chennai centre will focus primarily on manufacturing-led industries.
Target sectors include automotive, electronics, textiles and hardware manufacturing, enabling Uttar Pradesh to engage companies operating within Tamil Nadu's established manufacturing ecosystem.
Delhi: International Investor Engagement
The New Delhi centre is intended to provide another platform for engagement with domestic and international investors.
Earlier information on the initiative described it as a dedicated Invest UP and Asia-European Union Facilitation Office, reflecting its role in connecting with businesses and investors with international interests.
Dedicated Teams for Investment Outreach
The government has also been building dedicated staffing for the satellite investment offices. Invest UP's recruitment portal shows that applications were invited in August 2026 for Assistant General Manager – Investment Promotion positions for the Satellite Investment Promotion Offices.
Earlier programme details indicated that individual offices would include personnel responsible for investment promotion, entrepreneur facilitation and administrative support.
Strengthening Uttar Pradesh's Investment Network
The five-centre initiative expands Uttar Pradesh's investment-promotion presence into some of India's largest financial, technology and manufacturing hubs.
By establishing dedicated teams in these markets, the state aims to improve communication with prospective investors, connect businesses with investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh and facilitate new industrial projects.
Invest UP continues to position infrastructure, policy stability, market scale and ease of doing business as central elements of the state's investment proposition.
