Engineering giant to execute key facilities for JSW’s steel capacity expansion.

L&T Secures ₹10,000–15,000 Crore Mega Metals Order from JSW Steel.

Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has won its largest-ever domestic metals sector contract, valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore, from JSW Steel Limited. Classified as a “mega” order under L&T’s internal framework, the contract has been secured by its Minerals & Metals (M&M) business vertical. The order forms part of JSW Steel’s ambitious expansion plan to raise crude steel capacity from 35 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to over 50 MTPA by 2031. Under the mandate, L&T will undertake engineering, procurement and installation of critical process facilities, including blast furnaces and steel melt shops, across multiple brownfield and greenfield projects. The projects will be executed primarily at JSW Steel’s facilities in Ballari, Karnataka, and Paradip, Odisha. L&T said its technology integration and execution capabilities continue to strengthen its long-standing three-decade partnership with JSW Steel.
