Strong container and dry cargo volumes power growth despite a dip in rail logistics.

Adani Ports Reports 15% YoY Growth, Handles 43.1 MMT Cargo in April.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) reported a robust 15 per cent year-on-year increase in cargo volumes in April 2026, handling a total of 43.1 million metric tonnes (MMT). The growth was largely driven by strong performance in the container and dry cargo segments, both of which recorded a 17 per cent rise compared to the same month last year. According to the company, sustained demand across key trade segments and improved operational efficiencies across its port network supported the positive performance. However, logistics rail volumes declined during the month, with throughput falling 16 per cent year-on-year to 48,490 TEUs, reflecting softer movement in inland container traffic. APSEZ, which operates India’s largest private port network, remains a critical pillar of the country’s maritime trade and logistics ecosystem. The April performance underscores the company’s ability to leverage scale, diversified cargo mix, and operational strength to maintain growth momentum amid sectoral fluctuations.
