Customs Suspends CONCOR’s Dronagiri CFS Permit Near JN Port Over Security Lapses.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House has suspended the Customs Cargo Service Provider approval for Container Corporation of India’s (CONCOR) Dronagiri Container Freight Station (CFS) near Jawaharlal Nehru Port, citing serious security deficiencies and theft of export cargo. The 59-acre, rail-linked facility handles around 14,000 TEUs monthly and supports one of India’s busiest container ports. While cargo already inside the terminal before the July 22 suspension will continue to be processed, fresh import and export cargo receipts have been halted, except for shipments already documented before July 23. The suspension follows an earlier Customs advisory directing cargo operators to strengthen security under the Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations (HCCAR), 2009. This is the second major CFS suspension in the JN Port region within two months, reducing regional handling capacity by nearly 30,000 TEUs per month and intensifying logistical challenges amid ongoing global shipping disruptions.
