ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has secured a 30-year contract to operate and mechanise the OQ-III captive berth at Paradip Port, handling 10 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo.
The company quoted ₹762.20 per metric tonne to win the deal, which is critical for shipping cargo to and from its adjacent Paradip pellet plant. The project involves a ₹451 crore investment to upgrade the berth and ship loader. The berth, earlier held by Essar Ports, became part of AM/NS India’s assets following its $2.05 billion acquisition in 2022. These integrated logistics assets support AM/NS India’s steel operations across India, enhancing connectivity and supply chain efficiency amid planned production capacity expansions.
