126-km infrastructure push aims to transform connectivity, investment and urban growth.

The Bihar government has unveiled plans for a 126-km Ganga riverfront corridor that extends the existing 21-km JP Ganga Path to Koilwar on the Sone River. The ambitious project is estimated to cost ₹70,000 crore and aims to strengthen urban infrastructure, regional connectivity, and economic activity along the river corridor. Under the proposed funding model, the state government plans to contribute ₹20,000 crore from its budget, while ₹50,000 crore is expected to come through private investment. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary highlighted the expansion as the next major phase after the completion of the JP Ganga Path, popularly known as Patna’s Marine Drive, in 2025. The project is expected to create new opportunities for real estate, industries, transportation and commercial development along the corridor. The government’s broader strategy focuses on converting investment commitments into visible infrastructure and positioning riverfront development as a key driver of Bihar’s economic growth.
