Company barred from bidding after declining the Andhra Pradesh toll project award.
NHAI Debars Highway Infrastructure for Three Months Over Toll Project LoA Withdrawal.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has debarred Highway Infrastructure for a period of three months after the company declined to accept a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for a toll project in Andhra Pradesh. The action follows the company’s decision to withdraw from the Venkatapalem fee plaza project despite being awarded the contract. In a disclosure to stock exchanges, Highway Infrastructure stated that its management chose not to proceed with the LoA issued by NHAI. As a result, the authority has barred the company, along with its promoters, directors, and owners, from participating in NHAI tenders as a pre-qualified bidder during the debarment period. While the company did not quantify any financial impact from the move, it clarified that it would remain ineligible to bid for NHAI projects during the three-month restriction. The development underscores NHAI’s strict enforcement of bidding norms and contractual discipline in national highway projects.
