Encroachment ends where planned development begins.
After HC Order, Jaipur Residents & Developers Push JDA to Act Against Illegal Colonies.
Following a Rajasthan High Court directive to clear unauthorised constructions on government land, residents and developers in Jaipur are demanding swift action from the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). The order, issued during a PIL hearing on 87 illegal colonies in Sanganer tehsil, instructed the Rajasthan Housing Board and JDA to remove encroachments and submit a compliance report within four weeks, with the next hearing on December 9. Residents and realtors allege that large portions of land in Sanganer, reserved for planned development, have been illegally occupied by showrooms, boutiques, eateries, salons, and other commercial establishments operating without JDA approval. Pinkcity Infrastructure Pvt Ltd has written to the authorities, asserting its exclusive development rights over Khasra Nos. 140–178 in Chimanpura and urging immediate action in line with the Supreme Court guidelines. They argue that encroachments not only hinder organised urban growth but also pose serious public safety risks.
