PM Modi Hints at More Bullet Train Corridors, Calls for a ‘Blue Book’ of Learnings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has indicated that India may soon roll out additional bullet train projects, emphasising the need to document the experiences and methods used in constructing the Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor. During an interaction in Surat with engineers involved in the project, Modi urged them to compile a detailed “blue book” that records challenges, techniques, and solutions. He said such documentation would prevent future teams from starting from scratch and would help replicate successful practices across upcoming high-speed rail corridors. Modi stressed that understanding why a method is used is essential for effective replication and long-term infrastructure growth. He also noted that this knowledge repository would benefit future students and engineers. Sources confirmed that the PM recently reviewed presentations on several proposed bullet train routes, signalling strong momentum for India’s high-speed rail expansion.
