JICA Signs ₹11,181 Crore Loan Agreements with India.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has signed six loan agreements worth ₹11,181 crore with India to support sustainable development. The loans include ₹4,649 crore for the Delhi Metro's fourth phase, adding 47 km of new corridors. This expansion will benefit 400,000 daily commuters by 2031 and improve connectivity for over 17 million NCR residents. Other loans include ₹3,065 crore for a seawater desalination plant in Chennai, ₹2,106 crore for Tamil Nadu’s Investment Promotion Program, ₹2,669 crore for Punjab's biodiversity conservation, ₹2,483 crore for forest management, and ₹1,209 crore for Assam's aquaculture promotion. JICA remains a key financial and technical partner in India’s infrastructure growth.
