Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has urged Container Corporation of India (Concor) to develop at least 100 terminals, doubling its current revenue from ₹9,000 crore to ₹18,000 crore.

Speaking on Friday, he emphasized Concor’s role in boosting railway cargo handling to 35% of the country's total. Concor, which currently has 66 terminals, aims for 80 by 2028 but is encouraged to expand further. Vaishnaw also stressed the need for customer-centric operations and cargo aggregation to enhance value addition. The Railway Board will provide land support to facilitate this expansion, driving growth in rail-based cargo operations.
