Unmatched speed, precision, and teamwork power India’s leading cargo-handling port.

DPA Kandla Sets Historic Record: 81,024 Tonnes of Coal Discharged in 24 Hours.

Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) Kandla has created a new milestone by discharging an unprecedented 81,024 tonnes of coal in just 24 hours from vessel MV MARATHOS at Cargo Berth No. 7—the highest-ever single-day coal discharge at the port. The achievement highlights DPA Kandla’s growing maritime efficiency and reinforces its position as India’s leading major port for cargo handling excellence. This record comes shortly after another operational feat on November 17, when the port handled 40 ships in a single day, surpassing its previous record of 38. The coal discharge operation was made possible through exceptional coordination among key partners, including Shree Ashapura Stevedores, Seascape Shipping Agency, Shri Balaji Infraport, and Balaji Malts. DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh expressed gratitude to port workers, teams, and stakeholders for their dedication. Officials emphasised that meticulous planning, real-time monitoring, and seamless teamwork were crucial to achieving these back-to-back milestones.
