At the Sixth Meeting of the ISA Regional Committee for Europe and the Others Region in Brussels.

20 countries gathered to advance solar collaborations under the International Solar Alliance (ISA). Chaired by Germany, the session emphasized aligning strategic goals and reviewing implementation. ISA Director General Ashish Khanna highlighted that while $2 trillion was invested in clean energy last fiscal, only 15% reached low- and middle-income countries and less than 29% to Africa. He noted ISA’s effort to mobilize $200 million to attract private investment in Distributed Renewable Energy in Africa. Germany reported ISA’s membership has grown to 123 countries. The IEA’s Laura Cozzi warned that AI infrastructure could significantly increase power demand but also improve energy access. Financing gaps and the shortage of skilled professionals remain key challenges. The meeting also spotlighted solar’s affordability, green hydrogen, energy storage, and the role of AI, with ISA and IEA launching new initiatives to support the clean energy transition.
