Beyond Renewables—Building Nature-Positive Energy Futures.
Adani Green Leads the Way with UN-Backed TNFD Biodiversity Integration
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has adopted the UN-backed Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework, becoming one of the few global renewable energy companies to embed biodiversity into core business decisions. Moving beyond standard ESG compliance, AGEL began enterprise-wide nature assessments in FY24, mapping ecological dependencies, risks, and opportunities across all its sites. CEO Ashish Khanna emphasised that nature is integral to AGEL’s growth strategy, enabling the company to build resilient ecosystems alongside clean energy infrastructure. AGEL has committed to achieving No Net Loss of Biodiversity by 2030 and plans to plant 27.86 million trees across project locations. With 16.5 GW of operational renewable capacity and a target of 50 GW by 2030, including the world’s largest 30 GW renewable project at Khavda, AGEL is positioning itself as a global leader in nature-positive clean energy development.
