Kobelco Construction Equipment India (KCEI), a subsidiary of Japan-based Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., has unveiled three excavator variants in the 19.1–24 tonne category: SK210, SK215LC and SK230XDLC. Announced in Chennai on October 23, 2026, the launch reinforces the company's ‘Value Excavation’ philosophy, combining Japanese technology and local manufacturing to meet the evolving needs of India's infrastructure sector.

Three Excavator Variants for Indian Operating Conditions

The newly launched excavators are designed to support construction and infrastructure projects with a focus on performance, fuel efficiency, durability and operating value. Manufactured at KCEI's facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, the machines reflect the company's emphasis on localisation and equipment suited to Indian working conditions. The Sri City facility has an annual production capacity of approximately 3,500 units and has produced more than 20,000 machines for domestic and international markets across over 16 countries, according to the announcement.

Engine Performance and Key Features

The new excavator variants are powered by a 150 HP F4.5 Cummins CRDI engine. Key features include enhanced digging forces, GEOSCAN remote tracking, standard air-conditioning, LED work lights and a power boost function. Extended hydraulic oil and filter maintenance intervals are also designed to help operators optimise equipment uptime, maintenance planning and lifecycle costs.

Supporting Infrastructure Development

Jun Hayama, Managing Director of Kobelco Construction Equipment India Pvt. Ltd., said the launch reflects the company's commitment to India's infrastructure development and its long-term presence in the country across manufacturing and engineering. Moses Eddy, Director of KCEI, highlighted the importance of combining technology and localisation to help customers achieve better excavation economics.
