Medhavi Skills University Signs Strategic MoU with CIDC to Transform India’s Construction Workforce

Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has formalised a landmark partnership with the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC)—an Autonomous Body established by the Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog) and the Indian construction industry—to scale high-quality skilling, workforce development, and industry-integrated education across India’s rapidly growing construction sector.

The MoU was signed at The No Dig India Show 2025 & ICC Awards, India’s leading event on trenchless technology and sustainable underground infrastructure. The agreement was executed by Shri Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor, MSU, and Dr. Priya Ranjan Swarup, Director General, CIDC, in the presence of dignitaries including Shri Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister (Energy), Government of Madhya Pradesh, and Shri P. Narahari, IAS, Principal Secretary (Public Health Engineering), Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Key Highlights of the MSU–CIDC Partnership

Under this collaboration, MSU and CIDC will jointly develop a national-scale ecosystem for construction education and workforce capacity building, including:

Short-term & long-term qualification programs in construction, infrastructure management, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and allied trades.

Work-Integrated Degree Programs (B.Voc / M.Voc) enabling working professionals to earn academic degrees without leaving their jobs.

Establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Construction & Infrastructure at MSU, serving as a national hub for:

  • Applied research
  • Technology adoption
  • Industry-aligned skill development
  • Workforce training & certification

This partnership comes at a crucial time:
📈 India’s construction market is projected to reach ₹39.10 trillion by 2029, creating huge demand for skilled and academically trained professionals.
👷‍♂️ The sector employs 71 million people, expected to reach 100 million by 2030, underscoring the need for formal training, standardisation, and upskilling.

Leadership Speaks

Shri Kuldip Sarma noted that the collaboration reinforces MSU’s mission of delivering industry-ready education and empowering India’s construction workforce with future-oriented skills.
Dr. Priya Ranjan Swarup emphasised CIDC’s commitment to enhancing professionalism, standardisation, and capacity building across India’s construction ecosystem.
