Simplified Maps, Smarter Growth: LDA Paves Way for Modern Urban Living
LDA Eases Housing Map Norms, Approves New Building Bylaws for Lucknow
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), in its 185th board meeting, approved major reforms, including easing norms for single residential building maps on government roads narrower than 9 meters—excluding illegal colonies—under specific conditions. The board, chaired by divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob, also greenlit the New Building Bylaws and Zoning Regulations 2025, enabling high-rise construction in the city. Key developments include over 1,100 high-end flats across Gomtinagar, Aishbagh, and Basant Kunj, a modern PPP-model bus terminal at Charbagh, and an e-vehicle charging station in Basant Kunj. Affordable housing projects with 1,832 multi-storey flats continue registration. LDA will now sell commercial properties on a first-come, first-served basis, replacing the e-auction model to support small traders. High-tech group housing, city-wide digital archiving of files, and the declaration of Shaheed Path, Kisan Path, and the proposed Green Corridor as special convenience zones were also approved, marking a transformative step for Lucknow’s urban development.
