Strong sanctions and expanding loan book signal momentum in renewable energy financing.
IREDA Loan Disbursements Jump 44% to ₹24,903 Crore in April–December.
The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) reported a strong financial performance in the April–December 2025 period, with loan disbursements rising 44% year-on-year to ₹24,903 crore. In the corresponding period last year, disbursements stood at ₹17,236 crore, highlighting robust growth in renewable energy financing. Loan sanctions during the nine months reached ₹40,100 crore, marking a 29% increase compared to ₹31,087 crore in the same period a year ago. IREDA’s total loan book also expanded significantly, standing at ₹2,87,975 crore as of December 31, 2025, up 28% from ₹1,68,960 crore a year earlier. Commenting on the performance, Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, said the strong growth reflects rising confidence in the agency’s financing capabilities and sustained momentum in India’s renewable energy sector. He added that the expanding loan book underlines IREDA’s key role in supporting the country’s green energy transition.
