Suzlon to Launch 3 AI-Enabled Smart Blade Factories in Major Digital Expansion.
Suzlon Energy, India’s largest wind turbine manufacturer, has announced plans to commission three new AI-enabled smart blade factories as part of a major digital upgrade of its national manufacturing network. Two facilities will be located in Gujarat and Karnataka, while the third site is being finalised. The expansion will increase Suzlon’s total factories to 20 and support faster execution of its 6.2 GW order book by reducing logistics time and placing production close to upcoming wind hubs. The new units will integrate robotics, automation, digital workflows, and advanced monitoring for improved blade quality and safety. Suzlon is also modernising its existing 15 facilities under a multi-year smart factory programme. With an annual capex of ₹550 crore, the company aims to strengthen technology, project execution, and long-term services, including turbine life extension and repowering. Despite renewed global interest, Suzlon remains focused on India’s massive wind potential over the next five years.
