Chandigarh MC to E-Auction 20 Prime Commercial Properties in Manimajra.

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (MC) is set to launch an e-auction of 20 commercial properties in Manimajra, including booths and showrooms, to strengthen its revenue generation. A special committee has been formed to determine reserve prices and finalise the auction's terms and conditions, taking factors such as prevailing collector rates into account. Around 80 commercial properties in Manimajra remain vacant and will be auctioned in phases, with the first batch expected to attract strong buyer interest due to their strategic locations in busy commercial areas. Officials believe the initiative will generate substantial returns and improve the civic body's financial position. Based on the response to the first auction, the remaining properties may also be offered through future e-auctions. Separately, the MC has completed the bidding process for the last remaining kiosk at the city's food street, marking another step in optimising municipal assets and increasing non-tax revenue.
