Exide Industries Infuses ₹450 Cr into EV Battery Arm Exide Energy Solutions.

Exide Industries has infused ₹450 crore into its wholly owned subsidiary Exide Energy Solutions Ltd (EESL) through a rights issue to fund its upcoming greenfield lithium-ion cell manufacturing plant in Bengaluru. As per regulatory filings, EESL allotted 11.25 crore equity shares of face value ₹10 each at a premium of ₹230 per share to Exide Industries, with the allotment completed on March 25, 2026. The transaction was carried out on an arm’s length basis, and Exide Industries’ shareholding in the subsidiary remains unchanged at 100%. Incorporated in March 2022, EESL focuses on manufacturing lithium-ion battery cells, modules and packs for electric vehicles and stationary energy storage. Following the infusion, EESL’s paid-up capital stands at ₹1,504.21 crore. Exide Industries’ total investment in the subsidiary has now reached ₹4,802.23 crore, underlining its long-term push into the EV and energy storage space.
