Mhada has submitted redevelopment plans for slums in Jogeshwari, Chembur, and Kurla in partnership with the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA).

These plans are part of a broader initiative involving various government agencies to address 228 stalled slum schemes across Mumbai. The projects will follow Regulation 33(10) of the Development Control Regulations, with Mhada overseeing the redevelopment and financing, while the SRA handles surveys, relocations, and demolitions. In total, there are approximately 2.2 lakh slum households on government-owned lands. The redevelopment of slums is seen as a key factor in achieving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region's $1 trillion economy goal by 2030, requiring the resettlement of 2.8-3 lakh households annually.
