NCLAT Seeks Status Report on 16 Stalled Supertech Projects.

NBCC and Apex Court Committee given two weeks to explain delays as thousands of homebuyers await relief.

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has sought a status report on the slow progress of 16 stalled Supertech projects being implemented by NBCC. The tribunal has directed NBCC and the court-appointed Apex Court Committee to submit updates within two weeks. NCLAT also asked NBCC to explain the progress made in awarding construction contracts, after earlier directing it to complete the process and begin construction from October 1. The 16 projects, spread across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Karnataka, comprise nearly 49,748 homes. NBCC was appointed as the implementing agency in December 2024, but homebuyers say construction has yet to resume on the ground, nearly 21 months later. Around 14,000 homebuyers are reportedly still awaiting possession. The projects include Supertech developments such as Ecovillage, Sports Village, Ecociti, Romano, Capetown and North Eye. Homebuyer groups have raised concerns over continuing delays and expenses related to the supervisory committee and consultants.
