Tata Power Renewable Energy Commissions 190.5 MW FDRE Project in Rajasthan.

Solar, storage and grid technology combine to deliver reliable round-the-clock clean power.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has commissioned a 190.5 MW Solar Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at Kalasar in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Developed under SJVN FDRE Tranche-1, the project is part of a larger 460 MW FDRE development. The installation is integrated with a 115 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling stable and dispatchable renewable power while supporting grid reliability. Electricity generated will be supplied to distribution companies including Haryana Power Purchase Centre, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company and Noida Power Company. The project also incorporates advanced grid-balancing technologies such as a Harmonic Filter Bank and Static Var Generator systems. Following the commissioning, TPREL’s total renewable utility capacity has reached 12.4 GW. Around 6.9 GW is currently operational, comprising 5.6 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity, while another 5.5 GW is under implementation and is expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 24 months.
