Tata Power Wins SECI Contract for 324 MW Pumped Storage Project.

Tata Power has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 324 MW of power from its 1,000 MW Bhivpuri Pumped Hydro Storage Project in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. The project was secured through SECI’s tariff-based competitive bidding process and will be developed under the Build, Own, Operate (BOO) model with a 40-year Pumped Storage Purchase Agreement (PSPA). Scheduled for commissioning by 2029, the Bhivpuri project will provide eight hours of energy storage and connect to the South Kalamb Central Transmission Utility substation under the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). The awarded capacity is part of Tata Power’s expanding 2,800 MW pumped storage portfolio, which also includes the 1,800 MW Shirwata project. With this addition, Tata Power’s clean energy portfolio has reached 17.5 GW, reinforcing its commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy transition and grid reliability.
