MP to Develop 5,000 MW Decentralised Solar Plants Under ₹20,000 Cr Yojana.

Madhya Pradesh plans to set up 5,000 MW of decentralised solar plants under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Yojana, with ₹20,000 crore in projected investments. Tenders have been floated for 1,900 agricultural feeders, and 1,200 MW will be eligible for central subsidies. However, bidders can propose projects beyond the subsidised capacity. For instance, if a sub-station has a 3 MW capacity but only 1.5 MW qualifies for subsidy, bids can be submitted for the full 3 MW. The lowest bidder will be awarded the project. MPUVN has signed MoUs with three banks to provide timely financing at reasonable rates. Successful bidders will also sign 25-year power purchase agreements. The state is hosting a summit for investors on June 10 in Bhopal to promote the initiative. The move is aimed at enhancing agricultural energy security and accelerating the state’s renewable energy transition.
