NCLAT Allows LDA to Join Ansal Group Insolvency Case.
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has allowed the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and other authorities to become parties in the ongoing insolvency case against the Ansal Group. This move strengthens the interests of homebuyers impacted by alleged violations of the Hi-Tech Township policy. NCLAT had earlier declared Ansal Group bankrupt, appointing an Interim Resolution Professional (IRP), leaving thousands of investors with stalled projects. Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directive, LDA filed an FIR against Ansal and challenged the insolvency order. LDA also placed a ₹4,500 crore liability claim, citing unauthorized sales of 411 acres. Authorities have a week to submit their claims, with the next hearing scheduled for April 15.
