“Revive Sports City, Restore Trust – A Policy for Progress”
Noida Builders Push for Rehab Policy Amid Sports City Deadlock.
Builders in Noida have urged the Uttar Pradesh government to introduce a rehabilitation policy for Sports City projects, mirroring the one extended to stalled group housing projects as per the Amitabh Kant committee's recommendations. With over 8,000 residents already living in these developments and 20,000 awaiting possession, developers proposed paying 25% of recalculated dues within 60 days and the balance over three years. Credai (Western UP) highlighted inconsistencies in dues calculation, citing issues such as misapplied commercial rates, duplicate farmer compensation, and uneven zero-period benefits. Despite the matter being under Supreme Court consideration, the Noida Authority recently issued fresh recovery notices, prompting a partial payment of ₹80 crore from a consortium in Sector 150. Credai warned that unresolved approvals, delayed occupancy certificates, and ongoing bans risk pushing projects into bankruptcy, hurting both homebuyers and the state’s stamp duty revenue.
