The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved the Majhe Ghar - Majhe Adhikar Housing Policy 2025, aiming to construct 35 lakh affordable homes by 2030 with a ₹70,000 crore investment.
Targeting EWS and LIG categories, it introduces rent-to-own models and supports self-redevelopment with a ₹2,000 crore fund. A dedicated cell will assist housing societies in planning and execution. The policy promotes green, disaster-resilient construction and establishes a Housing Information Portal integrating AI for real-time data. It supports ‘walk-to-work’ housing near employment hubs and hospitals, mandates 10–30% residential land in industrial areas, and encourages slum cluster redevelopment. A Supreme Grievance Redressal Committee will oversee project quality and timelines. Real estate leaders hail it as a transformative step toward inclusive urban growth and large-scale employment.
